Urban Landscape
Eventually the billboards were less the star, and more a feature of the painting. From there, I relaxed my painting series thinking and transitioned into general urban and rural landscapes. I fell in love with the dull, seemingly day-to-day nothingness that made up our lives. Run down parking lots. Cars on front lawns. Sad highway motels.
Eventually I turned to old family photos, recognizing the incredible treasures of urban and sub-urban life. I've started finding more and more fascination with the seemingly dull in everyday communities and the structures we fill them with. In the end, if you dig it - paint it.
