Work in Progress – Store Front Paintings

Sneak Peek! New Store Front Series:

This series of Store Front and Strip Mall paintings has been inspired by our notion of what is important and what is not. In architecture, many building will be designated as important heritage sites, while others are considered ugly and of little aesthetic interest. These are portraits of once modern architectures that have been used and discarded. They are the underdog, never to be picked for the team. Although strip malls are not going away too soon – they are certainly not being preserved as important heritage sites. Instead, they are renovated, reworked and redeveloped without much more than a glance back at their once shining glory.
